Wrightwood, CA – What is the price of freedom? At Mountain High Resort it is just $199.00. Beginning September 1, 2000, guests can buy a 2000/2001 Anytime Season Pass for only $199.00, a 60% decrease from the previous year. Aptly named the Freedom Pass, it is valid anytime, any day including weekends, holidays and nights.
In addition to the dramatic savings, Mountain High Freedom Pass holders receive Hands-Free lift access through the resort’s electronic-access ticketing system and personalized statistics via the area’s website at www.mthigh.com.
“This is the lowest priced and most convenient Anytime Season Pass in the region,” commented Brad Wilson, Assistant General Manager. “It gives our guests the freedom to match their own schedules and save a considerable amount of money.”
Skiers and snowboarders are advised to act quickly though as the $199.00 Freedom Pass is only available September 1, 2000 through October 31, 2000 and quantities are limited. Passes may be purchased by phone at (760) 249-5808, ext. 261 or online at www.mthigh.com .
Discounted pass programs have met with mixed results nationally but Mountain High’s unique attributes make it a prime candidate for the promotion. They are Southern California’s closest winter resort, there is no mountain driving and they are the only regional area to offer night skiing and snowboarding 7 nights-a-week. In addition, the discounted pass is being offered at a time when other resorts have gone to full price.
Says Karl Kapuscinski, General Manager, “Many areas offer their season pass sales in the spring to generate summer cash flows. We’re offering ours in the fall when people are thinking about the coming season and the demand is the greatest.”
Regional advertising through print ads, banner ads, direct mail, bulk e-mail and grass root promotions will reach over 2-million potential customers during September and October.
With the expected increase, resort officers hope to boost their core rider visits, enhance customer loyalty and introduce new people to the mountain. “Mountain High will be on the tongues of virtually every skier and snowboarder in Southern California so we expect to see a tremendous response,” states Wilson. “With all its benefits, this $199.00 promotion is nothing less than a pricing revolution.”
