Mount Snow’s 6th Annual Reggae Festival

After wrapping up a weekend full of swimsuit wearing skiers/riders, Mount Snow is gearing up for yet another festival weekend. The Sixth Annual Mount Snow Spring Reggae Festival returns to Mount Snow March 30th and 31st. The weekend also includes the 12th Annual Snow Tire Slalom on Saturday and the 4th Annual Dummy Downhill and an Easter Sunday celebration capping off the weekend on Sunday.

Friday night kicks off the Reggae Festival with a live performance at the Snow Barn by One People. Featuring a powerful sound derived from a fusion of reggae, rap, funk and soul music, One People has provided Reggae Festival entertainment for the past six years.

Included in the weekend festivities will be an outdoor beer garden and barbecue on Cuzzins deck in the Main Base area. Live entertainment begins Saturday on Cuzzins deck featuring the smooth reggae sounds of One People and Anthem. The party continues at the Snow Barn Saturday night with more live reggae music in the form of John Brown’s Body. On Sunday afternoon it’s back to Cuzzins Deck for your listening pleasure with Jamm Down.

Also on Saturday, come participate in or check out the 12th Annual Snow Tire Slalom. Who says you can’t mountain bike in the winter? The 12th Annual Snow Tire Slalom features mountain bikers competing in a head-to-head dual slalom race on snow for cash and prizes. This year’s race takes place on Countdown on the Main Face. Registration takes place from 8-9:30am that morning in the Main Base Lodge.

On Sunday, Mount Snow invites all to the 4th Annual Dummy Downhill competition. Dummy Downhill features guest and employee made “crash test dummies” on skis or snowboards, which ride down a slope in attempt of catching “big air”. Prizes will be awarded to the most creative dummies and other categories. Requirements to compete: competitors must supply their own dummy (nothing alive) as well as equipment. Explosives are not allowed. This is a spectator favorite, so arrive early. Competition begins at 11am on Lower Exhibition on the Main Face.

To cap off the weekend, celebrate Easter Sunday on the slopes. Activities include an Easter egg hunt for children all ages and a Golden Easter egg hunt for all the adults with great prizes and giveaways. For more information on weekend events call 802-464-4191 or log onto
