Bud Light American Snowboard Tour North American Championships

Mount Snow, Vermont (March 9, 1998) - For its third consecutive year, Mount Snow will host the Bud Light American Snowboard Tour (AST) North American Championships March 13-15, 1998. The AST, presented by Chevy S-10 Trucks, is the nation�s longest running professional and amateur snowboard tour, and features the world�s top riders competing for $50,000 in prize money in Halfpipe, Giant Slalom and Boardercross disciplines.

This weekend will also determine the Paul Mitchell Rider�s Cup winner, which will pay $27,000 to the top three men�s and women�s AST overall points leaders in each discipline.

The North American Championships is the final stop of the AST�s five-mountain elite snowboard tour, which offers a total of $152,000 in prize money. The tour showcases top international riders and allows amateur riders to compete on the same courses as the pro athletes. Athletes scheduled to appear at Mount Snow include: Jason Evans, Ross Powers (bronze halfpipe Olympian), Kyla Duffy, Lisa Kosglow (giant slalom Olympian), the entire Mount Snow Ride On! snowboard team and many locals from the southern Vermont region.

This weekend will also feature a Ska Band Explosion at the Snow Barn Friday and Saturday night, with live music from ska bands The Allstonians, The Agents and Ruder Than You.

The Bud Light American Snowboard Tour is the final leg of the Mount Snow Trilogy, which features three consecutive weeks of major snowboard events at Mount Snow.
