PR: Bumps, Banks & Berms Make BoarderCross Snowboarding's Most Exciting Competition

Banff, Alberta - Catch the thrills, bumps, airs and grinds Sunday, March
1,
as more than 100 pro and amateur snowboarders hit the slopes of Mount
Norquay to vie for over $10,000 in cash and prizes. The race is the 2nd
to
hit the slopes in the four race Kokanee Kross Grand Nationals BoardCross(
series.
The Kokanee Kross Grand Nationals is the World's longest running
BoardCross( series and this year stops at Mount Seymour, BC, Banff/Mt
Norquay, Alberta, Horseshoe Resort, Ontario and Blackcomb Mountain, BC.
There is over $55,000. in cash and prizes up for grabs over the four race
series and it's open to men and women, amateur and pro, 18 years of age
and
over.
BoarderCross( marries the best of snowboarding's freestyle (soft boot)
and
alpine (hard boot) riding. The courses are designed to take all the
elements of riding one run and putting it into a compact, super
challenging
circuit. Six riders take to the run at the same time, 1st over the finish
line wins. By far the most exciting and visual snowboarding discipline,
BoarderCross( offers an adrenaline charge to both participants and
observers.
Sunday's race promises some great action with some of Canada's top pro
riders battling it out. You'll see riders like Canadian National
Snowboard
Team member Sherry Newstead, whose snowboarding list of credentials would
fill this page, and from Whistler, BC, Limited Snowboards "A" Team member
and Blackcomb Snowboard Team Coach, Andrew Murphy.
