Coach's Notes
Nov. 14, 1998
Kaprun, Austria

by US Team Coach Peter Foley

Today's opening World Cup GS was a promising start for us, with Mike Jacoby finishing 5th and Jeff Archibald 6th. Due to a last minute World Cup schedule change we were forced to cut our planned 15 day training camp in Colorado to 5 days, to come to Europe. We are training through these races, but our results are a bit better than we expected for so early in the training cycle. Sondra Van Ert finished 8th, Anton Pogue moved up from a start position of number 42 to 19th place, and Rob Berney was 8th after the first run but crashed on the second run. We fly to Sweden on monday for the next stop on the World Cup tour.
