Steve Persons took second place in the first ever night FIS world cup GS Friday. The first run was held at 1 pm and the second run was held at 6:30 pm on an amazingly well lit course that will be used for the 97 skiing world championships. Mike Jacoby had a disapointing day, but came in 6th. This was the first race in which ISF and FIS americans have competed together, and World.

Pro Team riders Chris Klug and Ian Price finished 8th and 9th. Other Americans: Rob Berney 18, Tom Lyman 21, Jeff Greenwood 24, Shannon Melhuse 30, Anton Pogue 42, Antonio Davila 44, Manuel Mendoza 49.

Sondra Van Ert was in second place after the first run but made mistakes on the second run and moved back to 7th. World Pro Team american Rosey Fletcher a great second run and took third place . Other Americans: Stacia Hookom (USST) 11, Betsy Shaw (WPT) 14, Lynn Ott (USST) 16, Leslee Olson (WPT) 17.

Todays SL didn't go so well for the Americans. The highlight was Sondra Van Ert and Manuel Mendozas 11th Place finishes. That's all I have to say about that.

Tomorrow we drive to Zurich, then fly to Whistler B.C. on Monday. Everyone is real excited to be going back to North America. The Freestylers are already in Whistler and have been reporting great powder days and ok Half pipe training.
