Entry Four: World Championships From San Candido, Italy (1-21-97)

Anton rode two solid runs into third place in the Slalom today at the World Championships. Starting number 16 on the first run he finished 5th, then moved up two places on the second run to take the bronze. In typical Pogue

style, when asked at the press conference how he felt about the race he answered "So, this is the World Championships, and those two characters beat me ? Well this is the first and last time that's going to happen." Then he let out his trade mark cackling laugh. I'm totally stoked for Anton. It's been a long time coming. He's been working really hard and showing improvement every week.
