Back To The Winter X Games Index
Earlier today a producer (who will remain unnamed because he is such a nice guy) walked in to the talent trailer with a print out of my second diary entry. At first I was flattered that he was actually reading it and then I got worried. All he wanted to tell me is that I should make sure that I state for the record that the views of the Inaugural Winter X Games contained on SOL are the opinions of me, Lee Crane, and not the official statement of an ESPN employee.

Noah Salasnek and Rocket Reeves get some pre-inspection tips from Greg Tomlinson.

So, for the record, here we go: the contents of this diary entry and any preceding or future entries are entirely the opinions, views, machinations, hallucinations and/or thoughts of Lee Crane the person and not Lee Crane the color guy for Big Air competition, and do not in any way reflect the opinions or beliefs of any and all ESPN employees either living or dead.

Meanwhile, back at the Winter X Games, things are heating up around the compound this morning. Production people are finalizing all their ins and outs, uber-hosts Mike Adamle and Chris McKendry have gone through their rehearsals in ESPN's Broadcast center/plush snowboard cabin in the forest, and riders are beginning to nose around the mountain check out the three main venue.

This morning, while Bart and I were in our last production meeting before we go live, riders were out inspecting the BoarderX course and getting a closer look at the big air venue. "It looks pretty good," said Noah Salasnek from the top of the monster kicker in front of the announcer's stand. "I'm just going to wait awhile until the snow softens up a bit."

Greg Tomlinson and Jack Edwards lubing up their yacking muscles at the BoardX course.

Up in the tower GT and Jack Edwards went through their rehearsals for the BoarderX competition getting ready for tomorrow's preliminary action there. Jack and GT have some pretty busy days ahead of them . They're announcing the BoarderX, Slope Style, and Halfpipe events.

After a nice lunch of meatloaf and Rice Crispy treats I'm going back out on the hill to try to grab some images of riders on the courses.

Talk to you later.

Lee
