2001 US Open Moves Over at Stratton

February 14, 2001

This year's 19th Annual U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships, the most prestigious event of the year, and a virtual who's who in competitive world-class snowboarding, will be held at Stratton Mountain, VT, on March 15-18, 2001.

Stratton Mountain has dedicated its SunBowl area to this year's U.S. Open where the Boardercross course will run a mile long and the Superpipe will take center stage. Spectator and competitors will also enjoy SunBowl's three-story lodge at the base of all the action.

Festivities kick off Friday night with the debut of the Quarterpipe Invitational featuring top pros going big under the lights. Saturday brings the U.S. Open's legendary Halfpipe Competition, the greatest Halfpipe contest in the world. On Sunday riders will compete in the Boardercross Competition, and the best 12 and under riders take the stage at the Junior Halfpipe Competition.

Thursday, March 15th - Halfpipe Qualifers, 10:00am - 3:30pm Friday, March 16th - Quarterpipe Qualifers & Finals, 7:30 - 8:30pm Saturday, March 17th - Halfpipe Semis & Finals, 12:00 noon - 3:00pm Sunday, March 18th - Boardercross Finals, 11:00am - 1:30pm Sunday, March 18th - Junior Halfpipe Competition, 9:30am - 1:00pm
