Kauk Wins Dodge Ridge Superfly Slopestyle By Press Release March 19, 2001
Pinecrest, CA -The fifth annual Superfly Slopestyle at Dodge Ridge went off with a bang. With 130 participants flipping, spinning and grinding their way down the course all day Saturday. It was a tight competition with snowboarders competing for cash, while the amateurs competed for prizes from participating sponsors.
It all came down to the final runs where Kauk brought out the big guns to button up first place for the Men's Pro Snowboard category. Other winners were Justin Calbert who placed first in the Men's Amateur Snowboard Category. For the women, Sarah Meyers, Santa Cruz Pro Rider placed first in the Women's Snowboard Category.
Aloha Battle, Dodge Ridge Employee and Superfly Slopestyle participant helped Dodge Ridge raise $500 for the American Cancer Society's Breast Cancer Research Foundation. A portion of the proceeds from registration fees will be donated in Aloha's name as the fundraising effort is part of her senior project.
Dodge Ridge is also kicking off its 2001-2002 season pass sale with a full adult or teen season pass for only $299. With that you receive the option to pay only $49 more to ski or ride the rest of this season. These passes are sold on a first come first served basis and will be available to the first 1,000 people to sign up.
