Rossignol debuted a new step-in binding developed with Emery. It's a cross between the Intec and Device Bindings. It has a pin that goes through the boot under the instep and attaches into a locking cam on either side. The highback gives support so the boot doesn't have to. I think we'll start seeing more of this. T-Bone already has a high-back solution to their binding and I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see something similar from other manufacturers in the future.
