Ride is a manufacturer and marketer of snowboards and snowboard-related products, such as snowboard bindings, boots and clothing. On March 14, 1997, Kevin E. Murray filed a litigation in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington (Seattle, Washington, Case No. C97-10402Z) against Ride, its Chairman of the Board (Roger B. Madison, Jr.), its former CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board (James J. Salter), its former President (Tim Pogue), and its Vice Chairman of the Board and Director of Investor Relations (Mark M. Salter). The action is brought as a class action on behalf of all persons who purchased Ride common stock from August 10, 1995 through December 30, 1996 (the Class). Murray alleges that during this period, the defendants issued incorrect financial and business information about Ride, through material misstatements and omissions of material facts about Ride, its finances, performance, and future business prospects. Murray alleges that this caused the market price of Ride common stock to be artificially inflated, and caused him and other purchasers to pay too much for their Ride common stock. The Complaint brings claims under the Federal Securities Laws (Section 10 (b), Rule 10b-5 and Section 20 (a), State Securities Laws (RCW 21.10.010 et seq.) Consumer Protection Law (RCW 19.86.020 et seq.) and State Common Law (Negligent Misrepresentation). The action seeks damages for all members of the Class. If you are a member of the Class who purchased Ride common stock between August 10, 1995 and December 30, 1996 (the "Class Period"), you may move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff for the Class. You must do so by May 16, 1997. In order to serve as lead plaintiff, you must meet certain legal standards. Plaintiffs' primary counsel in this action -- Cohen, Milstein, Hausfeld & Toll, P.L.L.C. -- has litigated securities class actions for decades; its has handled numerous cases in antitrust, securities, commercial business, consumer, and environmental toxic tort litigation, both in class and group actions.
