The SOL Stock Index
June 28, 1996

To help track Wall Street's impression of the snowboard market we've decided to form a simple stock index. We purchased 100 shares of all the publicly traded snowboard industry companies on June 18, 1996.

We purchased Anthony Industries (K2), California Pro (Kemper), Marker (Sims/Santa Cruz), Morrow, Oakley, Quiksilver, Ride, Vans, and Variflex (Static) at a total cost of $16,296.00.

From this point forward we will include weekly updates on how the SOL Index is doing and will occasionally get into some analysis.

Here's how we looked at market close on June 27, 1996.
