This is an eight-year-old photo of Jeff Galbraith.
Chris Brunkhart was supposed to send us one of the hundreds of photos he
has of Jeff standing around but he hasn't. Until he does this will have
to do.Jeff Galbraith was
raised in Snohomish County and attended Cascade High
School, alma mater of Patrick Duffy. Throughout childhood Jeff was able
to break ski patrol regulations without regard as his grandfather was a
partner and manager of Alpental Ski Area. He was a stand-out wrestler,
lettering four years while developing several eating disorders. Attending
college at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA and earning a
B.A. in Communications, he interned at TransWorld Snowboarding. After
graduation, he worked alternately on road crews and ski shops before
becoming Field Editor for the late, great International Snowboard
Magazine. A new career as a tent-setter for an exposition company
followed, before a Senior Editorship for Snowboarder Magazine. Eventually
relenting and moving to Bro-Cali, Jeff ascended to Managing Editor for
several seasons before freaking out, buying a four-wheel drive pickup and
moving to Idaho. Now, back in his role as Senior Editor, he splits his
residency between Ketchum and Mt. Baker, fly-fishing a great deal,
snowboarding, and working very slowly on a novel while lying profusely
about his golf game.
He enjoys reading the stories and essays of William Kitteredge, while
listening to the Melvins as C-Span glows on the television.
