Greg Johnson is
a humble soul who lives in a simple mountain village known as Vail. He traces
his snowboarding roots to the mid-eighties where he was influenced by Dave
Dowd, thick old Barfoot Boards, hiking Loveland Pass, Kevin Delaney, old
Kidwell noodle boards, Neon clothing, Union bowl at Copper, Jim Gardner,
stiff old Burton boards, Aspen Highlands Grand Prix, Jeff Grell, Jason Dow,
IBC Rootbeer ,and the back bowls of Vail.
As a halfpipe judge he has helped out numerous organizations that attempted
to run good halfpipe events including: NASA, NASBA, ASF, USASA, PSA-NA USSA,
OP Pro, RMSS, US Open, FIS, APSS and the ISF. His favorite activity still
remains snowboarding in crappy blizzard conditions and not seeing anyone
else on the mountain. You usually find him in Europe, Japan or Vail anxious
to snowboard the pow and then kick back with some good rootbeer waiting for
the next storm to roll through and deposit the goods.
