Up for Grabs!

Once you've learned how to jump, some of the tricks you can do in the air are called grabs.

The first thing you want to think about when doing any grab trick is that you are going to bring the board up to your hands.

Chris & Turtle

The Famous Tindy Grab

Don't bend over and try to reach for the board, you'll just throw yourself off balance.

Watch a Tindy Grab performed by a guy who thinks it's a Melancholy. Who are these guys? (AVI, 853 kb)

Here are three types of grabs. Other than the Method no one much does these anymore unless they're joking:

Method air - Take your front arm and grab your heel or toe edge, and bring the board back behind you.

Tindy air - A lame ass grab in which you take your back hand and grab your toe-side edge behind your back binding, and bone out your front foot.

Rocket air - You take both arms and grab your the nose of your board. Keep the board in front of you, and bone out your back leg.

Again, the most important thing to remember is to bring the board up to your hand first, and then make the grab.
