With high-end quality at a low-end price, Magnus ’99/00 is separated into three divisions: Heavyweight, Welterweight, and Welterweight Kids–all jacket and pants combinations. Magnus Heavyweight division’s quality is crafted with waterproof-breathable Nylo-Tech fabric, a 100-percent nylon outerfabric laminated with the Hipora AP membrane. This line has technical features such as taped critical seams, seamless shoulders, ventilation on jackets and pants, hand-warmer pockets, improved four-part liners, bold colors, and are available in insulated and non-insulated versions.

The Welterweight division features an exclusive Ozone fabric with PU coating and DWR finish, fleece-lined collars, velcro-closed cuffs, stash pockets, webbing zipper pulls, and are available insulated or non-insulated. Welterweight Kids closely resembles the adult line, but includes a hood on jackets and comes insulated only.

Mambosok has five new styles of shell outerwear jackets that are all made from Aqua II Shark Skin, a waterproof-breathable fabric. All jackets are critically taped and come with powder skirts, stowaway hoods, pit zips, lycra wrist/hand cuffs, and multiple pockets inside and out. Look out for the Widen, Rant, Oat, Ren, and Nader.

Mambosok also features two tough pants made with the Aqua II Shark Skin fabric that feature reinforced knees, removable suspenders, jean cuts, open cuffs with internal gaiters, stylish lines, and cuts.

Look for the Dent vest, three hip sweaters, and a whole new collection of hats in lush rich colors like Kahana Blue, Ripe Mango, Lava Red, Tequila, Lizard, and Gecko.

Maniak offers alternative eyewear including goggles and sunglasses.

Marmot is proud to be a partner in the development and launch of W.L. Gore’s newest waterproof-breathable technology, Paclite.

The Osprey jacket and pants use Paclite with PitZips, reinforced shoulders and elbows, a new Aero Pocket–a zippered, inside pocket. In addition, the Osprey jacket weighs only twenty ounces.

Also look for the Light Speed jacket and pants with two new technologies that are unique to this jacket only: IronSides and Narrow seam tape.

New jackets in the Jackson Collection have cool features like radio pockets, lined goggle pockets, and flash pockets. Also in the Jackson collection, look for a new ventilation system called the PitVent that goes from front to back instead of from elbow to rib cage. All of the jackets and pants in the Jackson Collection are made of Marmot’s own waterproof-breathable laminate called MemBrain. It has the same waterproofness and breathability but at a more affordable price.

Look for lower prices on bommer gloves and eight new or redesigned gloves.

From MIA Snowboards renowned DRS series to the advanced Destroyer series, its new products continue to set the benchmark for performance. Through independent testing, MIA has developed a revolutionary laminate directly from the people who contributed to the unmatched sucess of the Stealth Fighter’s winged technology. With its local aerospace resources, MIA has made it possible for the collaboration of these engineers to create such a revolutionary component.

In ’99/00 MLY will add three new lines of boards. The Variables (153, 157, 161, and 165 cm) are freeride boards designed with a progressive sidecut that quickens turn initiation and has a freestyle-influenced nose shape that performs well in the powder. The EX series (158 and 163 cm) is a wider-width performance freestyle board designed with a directional flex, moderate sidecut, and an all-mountain freestyle nose.

The M3 series (151, 154, and 157 cm) of boards incorporates all the features of pure technical freestyle boards, including narrow waist widths, longer contact lengths, and freestyle nose shapes. Due to popular demand, M3 models in sizes 156 and 160 cm, will once again be offered. The Ultimates (144, 149, 154, and 159 cm) continue as the all-mountain freeride board. The Mavericks (164, 169, and 174 cm) are big-mountain boards designed for high-speed cruising or deep powder.

The Signatures (147, 157, and 167 cm) designed for Shannon Melhuse are an ideal Alpine freeride board. The Tempests (139, 145, and 152 cm) are narrower-width women’s freeride boards. The Essential series (135, 141, 146, 151, and 156 cm) are inexpensive woodcore freestyle boards that ride well.

All MLY boards feature vertical monocoque construction, use pre-preg fiberglass that wraps entirely around the core and results in a lighter weight and more consistent flex. All boards, except the Essentials, feature tip-to-tail woodcores. The Variables, EX, and M3 feature super lightweight cores and graphite 5000 bases. All MLY boards have full-wrap edges and sublimated topsheets.

The Emery SIS boots have been redesigned for ’99/00 with more snowboard styling, mellower colors, and increased comfort and performance. All Emery boots are Italian-made. The Be-bop and Foxtrot come with thermofit liners and ratcheting ankle straps. The One Step emphasizes simplicity and affordability. The Emery line also includes women’s and children’s SIS boots. MLY also offers the entire line of Emery traditional and plate bindings.

In 1999, MLY will continue as the exclusive distributor of the Emery SIS system. The SIS comes in a freeride (now with an external highback), a true freestyle external highback, and tool-less rental versions.

MLY’s apparel will include the Detonator series that incorporates a proprietary two-layer waterproof-breathable stretch woven fabric and comes complete with a full range of innovative features including zippered vents and tech hoods.

The Charge series utilizes the waterproof-breathability of Dermizax and incorporates MLY’s honeycomb Ripstop fabric. The Blast and Fuse series uses the proven waterproof-breathability of Delfy 2000 and incorporates mellow styling and all the essential tech features. The Burn, Torch, and Flame items emphasize practical design and function for a great value. MLY’s colors will be muted yet vibrant, such as rust, resin, ink, smoke, and night. MLY will also offer the Furnace down vest and jacket and complete sweater, fleece warm-up, and casual basic layer lines.

MLY will offer a complete line of packs and bags. The Vault is a convertible gear bag with a zip-off daypack and wheels. The Cave is a unique full-wrap cargo bag with a fold-out tarp and a wet/dry stuff sack pocket. The Grotto Pack is a smaller version of the Canyon Pack. Both feature hydration pockets, adjustable shoulder and waist harnessing, and the patented Cirqueworks board carrying system. The Crevice pack and the Crack pack are simple designs that will haul your stuff well. The Abyss is a boardbag that will fit all of your gear on long trips and comes complete with wheels. The Chamber is a simple boardbag that will protect your gear.

Montana Sport introduces the MAS2000 Twister that will automatically stone grind one snowboard and/or one pair of skis. This machine complements the full line of automated machinery that Montana currently manufactures.

For customers who require a snowboard wide stone, but do not have the space or volume for the automated machinery, Montana provides the M2000 CSB stonegrinder. This machine has a computer chip card (the size of a credit card) that allows the technician to reproduce any structure or service just by choosing a specified program. The CSB’s provide the shop the flexibility to program custom programs as per the specific needs of that shop.

Montana Sport’s product line continues to provide a lower-priced snowboard sander, full-width snowboard extruder, and the industry-leading, factory edge-finishing, bevel-polishing system known as HTT.

Moonstone has kept the best of the old Moonstone and added some styles to the new, such as the BC parka featuring knit neck gaskets and cuff gaskets to keep the snow out, diverted pit zips for maximum venting and increased range of motion, angled waist pockets, and gusseted chest pockets. Other new additions in the BC line include the technical, gaitered BC pant.

The ultralight, super-durable Momentum group starts with the Momentum Expedition Parka in men’s and women’s sizes. Features include a mesh radio pocket, stash pockets, double storm flap with chin guard, and full-length angled pit zips for maximum air circulation. There’s also a three-layer Mo-Lite jacket for men and women. Elemental and Tangent are two-layer jackets made of Moonstone’s Dynamic fabric–available in men’s and women’s styles. Tangent’s features include a stow-away hood, hem drawcord, velcro-secured adjustable cuffs, zipper storm flap with chin guard, interior stretch-mesh pocket, full-length pit zips, and is available in pants.

HP is the Bi Polar super-warm fleece in a vest, jacket, and side-zip pants. HP is armed with a high collar, pack-friendly pockets, and reinforcements in the jacket and pants. The new Aero fleece jacket and vest, made from Air Core 200 is 30-percent lighter with the same warmth as traditional 200 weight fleece.

Moonstone’s glove line includes the Tangent glove made with Dynamic fabric and a Gore-Tex fabric package. The Aero glove is made with an Air Core fleece liner, forchettes for 3-D fingers, and minimal seams for a close fit.

For ’99/00, Morrow Snowboards will introduce several exciting new products. The highest-profile product next year will be the Tenth Anniversary Limited Edition Blaze Snowboard Line, a reincarnation of the first board designed and produced by Morrow Snowboards. With the Tenth Anniversary Blaze, Rob Morrow has designed the new inner-barrel construction, an even more efficient use of the already popular torque-rod technology. Added to this futuristic board is Morrow’s most advanced damping system and an all-new freeriding shape.

Morrow is introducing the Unit, a new line of freestyle boards for intermediate to advanced riders looking for a lightweight, do-anything freestyle shape. Also new is the Radium and Radium Wide snowboard line, an entry-level freeride board with high-end features. This board offers composite torsion box construction and a progressive freeriding shape, but is easy on the pocketbook. The Radium is offered in both normal and wide editions.

For ’99/00, additional sizes have been added to Morrow’s proven best-sellers, the Lithium and the Dimension.

The well-received Engage Step-In system will be upgraded with new versions of the 09 and S7 boot. This three-point system has been designed to give the rider support and flexibility where it is needed. This combination creates a snowboard-style-friendly boot/binding system.

Traditional bindings will be updated with the introduction of two new bindings called the Supastar and the Master.

MBS high-performance all-terrain boards start with the 1999 Unibody Systems and the 116 cm Grasshopper, a multi-dimensional camber and concave body combined with the MBS Twin Spring channel truck design. The 1999 Frame systems are the 132 cm Reactor for slalom/all-purpose riding. The Charger is a 152 cm mountain cruiser, the Super Charger 152 cm has a full-suspension. The Gremlin 132 cm is designed to meet the needs of entry-level riders. MBS offers binding systems with the ErgoBar and FreeFlex bindings.

Accessories include a brake system, SE suspension system, Sling Shot strut suspension, and EggShock suspension inserts.

NCM Binding Company will be introducing a number of new options on its SL binding for the ’99/00 season. It will offer a mid-size high-back option as well as its eight-and-one-half inch Sky Back. Both backs are anatomically designed for fine-tune adjustments and made from high-impact-resistant material tested in below-zero temperatures. They will have the NCM-designed honeycomb elastomer padding for greater control and comfort.

The integrated foot pad with gas pedals is being improved to offer a better dampening effect and will have a crystaline appearance. A new array of colors and color options will also be made available for the ’99/00 season.

All bindings are manufactured from CNC billet aluminum to provide long-lasting durability. The bindings come with padded straps and quick-release pump ratchets on the toe and ankle. They fit all foot sizes from children to adults.

Beginning its fifth year of making snowboards, Nelson will feature ten newly modified boards never before seen from the Nelson factory. It will offer four freestyle twin tips in sizes 145, 149, 153, and 159 cm, as well as four freeriding directionals with lengths of 150, 154, 157, and 160 cm. In addition, Nelson will offer a 121 cm for youngsters, and a 161 cm wide board for the size huge-foot riders. With all-new graphics, and an in-house heat-transfer machine, Nelson will produce its own top sheets allowing it full snowboard-manufacturing capabilities. Look for continued full-length woodcore designs that give riders a forgiving, yet stable, all-around board.

Nelson’s boots continue to be its best-selling product. Having been manufacturing shoes and apparel for over ten years, its boot line will continue to have high quality and more features at a lower price for the price-consicous retailer.

Nelson will continue to offer the tubelite binding weighing in at 1.5 pounds.

With 100-percent waterproof-breathable fabrics, Kevlar reinforcement, and the finest moisture-wickening lining material, Nelson jackets, pants, and gloves will again offer high quality and more features.

Freestyle, all-mountain, and wide boards will be available in lengths ranging from 125 cm to 172 cm. Construction will be solid with a full layer of Kevlar added to reduce some weight and add strength to the edge of the snowboard.

NFA will offer a larger selection of men’s and women’s pieces. There will be true, rich colors in pieces that offer both technical and functional features. Also look for better performance fabrics.

NFA will have toques, mitts, gloves, sweaters, and a full range of streetwear pieces.

Nidecker’s freestyle boards come in Pro Models (Babs 154, 159, and Princess Anita Schwaller 148) and the Smoke Series (151, 155, 157 extra-wide, 159, and 163 wide). Features include cap construction with tip-to-tail woodcore, multi-directional fiberglass, two-by-four insert pattern, and HMW P-Tex base material.

Freeride boards include the Megalight (157, 162, 163 extra-wide, and 167), Boarder (159 and 163), and Summit Series (154, 158, 162, 166, and 178 extra-wide). The Summit and Boarder Series feature cap construction with tip-to-tail woodcore, multi-directional fiberglass, two-by-four insert pattern, and HMW 1990 base material. The Megalight uses cap construction with tip-to-tail woodcore, multi-directional fiberglass plus carbon-titanium, two-by-four insert pattern, and Electra 2000 Gallium base material.

For freeriding boards there’s the Proto 2000 (159 and 167), Escape (151, 158, 165, and 174), Tornado GS (168, 173, and 183), and Tornado SL (147, 153, 157, and 161). The Proto 2000 and the Tornadoes use the same construction as Megalight, while the Escape is the same as the Summit and Boarder series.

The Asym 750 features an asymetrical baseplate, easy-open buckle, webbing straps, power pedal, and power straps. The Carbon 850 has the same features plus a lateral dampening system, carbon-Kevlar highback, and aluminum heelcup.

The Moutain features waterproof 1200D nylon mesh upper, advanced lacing, honeycomb heel-shock dampener, 3D arch support, dual component outsole, and hand-stitched liner. The Summit utilizes the same features with a waterproof carbon PU leather and upper mesh.

For ’99/00 ACG’s boards start with the U-series made for halfpipe competitors. The U-series is made with a blended sidecut, 4000-grade sintered base, carbon fiber strips for longitudinal flex with edge control, and extra inserts for optimization of stance.

The S series is for the boardercross competitor. Its features include a 4000-grade sintered base, carbon-fiber double-V torsion stabilizers, and a GS radial sidecut.

The M series has a sidecut and core optimized for aggresive all-mountain riding and has a sintered base with a spruce and poplar core.

The C series boards are softer and more forgiving for the less-experienced rider, with radial sidecuts, extruded bases, and tri-axial glass.

Based on twenty years of athletic footwear experience, Nike has taken a foot-out approach to develop a sleeker, slimmer, more athletic form fit that gives the rider better performance and more comfort. The Air Form Pumori gives instant customization for individual fit requirements. Molded flex notches give a continued fit throughout the entire range of motion. A new Dri-Fit BTU provides moisture-managing insulation that is much thinner than conventional foams and has minimal pack out for continued great fit over the life of the boot.

The Meru has molded flex notches for continued fit throughout the entire range of motion plus an ergonomically correct heel pocket.

The Bootlock binding has a heel-strap wrapping all the way around the rider’s boot to ensure the ultimate response and disperses pressure for the ultimate comfort. The adjustable-response ankle strap allows the individual rider to customize the binding for his or her own riding style. Other features include single-tool adjustability, highback rotation, ratchet buckles on the toe and ankle straps, four by four compatibility, and adjustable forward lean.

Both the board and gear bags have wheels and plenty of room and pockets to organize all of your gear.

Nitro’s new lineup will feature another 30 new molds, with a total 70 boards–most featuring progressive radius sidecuts including Progressive, Dual Progressive, and the new Tri Progressive versions. The new Mini Pro Series (98, 108, 118, 128, and 138 cm) boards feature full dual-wrapped capped construction, rider-friendly radial sidecuts, directional shapes, and a directional flex that is truly functional for kids. The boards come in your choice of graphics that match the Pro Series boards of Nitro’s Pro Team.

Nitro gets progressive in its M-Class boards as it introduces a new, slightly wider pricepoint board with progressive sidecut called the Titan (146, 153, 157, and 162 cm). It’s a directional freestyle/freeride board with XL Woodcore cap construction.

Nitro’s mid range, the X-Class, starts with the Magnum Series. First introduced last season, the Magnum series is a wide board with a new size (155 cm) added to the current sizes of 159, 165, and 171 cm. The new Ultra-Beam woodcore cap construction makes it 30-percent lighter than last year.

The Glide Series (143, 145, and 148 cm), specifically designed for women, features a mellower flex pattern thanks to its new VL woodcore cap construction. A V-lam woodcore of fuma and poplar woods yields a light weight, softer flexing board with progressive sidecut for females.

The new Illusion (149, 154, 157, and 161 cm) is a directional board with dual progressive sidecuts and V woodcore cap construction for technical freestyle riding. The X-Class is rounded out with the return of the top-selling Storm Series (152, 158, 162, and 166 cm). It’s a directional freeride board with progressive sidecut and V woodcore cap construction.

The V-Class features the Pro Signature models new shapes that are all directional and feature progressive radius sidecuts, sintered stone-ground bases, and Ultra-Beam woodcore cap construction. These boards are designed by riders such as Fabien Rohrer (150 and 152 cm), Nicola Thost (145, 150, and 154 cm), and Guillaume Chastagnol (154, 159, and 162 cm). The new Shadow Series (155, 159, and 162 cm) features the new tri-progressive sidecuts. Designed by Seth Neary, Mark Reilly, and Jonathan Smallwood, these boards feature three different sidecuts blended together with a larger sidecut at the waist, smaller at the tip, and even tighter at the tail.

The Natural Series (149, 155, 159, 161, 164, 169, and 175 cm) uses lightweight tri-axial carbon, Kevlar laminates with the Ultra-Beam woodcore cap construction. These are top-of-the-line directional freeride boards with progressive sidecuts and sintered stone-ground bases. All Nitro boards feature diamond-tuned edges, two layers of glass on all cap sidewalls plus the topsheet, stainless-steel inserts, and a two-year warranty.

Partnering with Dolomite and Tecnica, Nitro is continuing its long-term relationship with Clicker, manufacturing boots compatible to this system with its own triple-injected self-cleaning sole design. Three new boot soles came out this past season and another new sole will be introduced for next year. The Mirage CL features a new version of Nitro’s patented heel-lock system, combination lace and buckle closure system, and a new integrated highback technology.

The Response, designed by team riders Thost and Chastagnol, features a new high-end triple-injected sole. Be sure to check out the Recon, Seeker, and Phenix CL for use with the Clicker HB binding. Some of the things to look for include a new liner technology featuring expandable toe boxes, lamb’s wool linings, mixed liners, and Nitro’s patented custom-foam-fit system.

The line is divided into three groups based on features and fabrics. The high-end Tempest Line has four jackets and three pants featuring Entrant GII XT coating, DWR treatment, zip-out quilted vests, powder skirts, tech hoods, and taped seams. The mid-priced Domain Line includes four jackets and three pants with Abletex 5,000 waterproofing, Teflon DWR, taped seams, faux-fur linings, 80-gram holofil insulation, three waistbands on pants, and zip-out powder skirts.

The economically priced Vista Line features Abletex 3,000 mm waterproofing, Teflon DWR, and strategically taped seams in three jackets and two pants.

Nitro has expanded the first-layer program utilizing Isofil and Coolmax fabrics for their hydrophobic properties.

Nixon’s latest line will have five new smaller watches, two premium 200-meter water-resistant models, and a new sneaky tech watch to be announced later. All these are in addition to the nine existing models that will feature new dial colors and designs. All will be custom designed, and water and shock resistant.

For ’99/00, NoLimitz announces the arrival of an exciting new offspring: A big-mountain shape has been added to the Creation lineup measuring in at 167 cm. The Creation line now consists of sizes: 154, 158, 163, 167, 171, and 181 cm. The cosmetics have changed ever so slightly to better accent the new winter colors. The graphics are a strong contrast to the white background most often found when riding. Construction has been refined to the point where changes are now small proporietary refinements designed to tune flex patterns, dampen, and strengthen the board overall.

The new line of NoLimitz boards features dynamic damping, prepreg micro-laminate technology, full monocoque-wrapped TRIC woodcores, and the Carbon Power V. The Works and Lyric models will see some graphics changes and similar construction refinements as the Creation.

NoLimitz will also have a line of accessories available.

For Fall 1999, The North Face’s newly designed jackets offer the same features as its technical outerwear pieces. All shell tops feature core-venting–an extremely efficient way to disperse excess body heat and moisture, especially when combined with the air flow generated by a run downhill. Hoods are both stowable and detachable. They can be stored in the jacket collar or removed for a more minimalist profile. The styling is clean and new, with a new palette of colors.

Because many of the athletes on The North Face Snowsports Team are both skiers and boarders, All Mountain and Vert are designed to serve the needs of both athletes. All Mountain tops use Gore-Tex two-ply fabric and core-venting to help dissapate excess body heat. All seams are taped and vent zippers are water-resistant and covered to ensure a completely waterproof seal. The All Mountain line also features details like bombproof TPU kickpatches and watch/altimeter straps, but don’t overburden jackets with unnecessary bells and whistles.

Created from durable shell materials and coated with its highly water-resistant Hydron coating, Vert shells have abrasion patches under the arms and along the jacket’s sides to prevent damage from snowboard edges. All shell seams are taped to make the seams waterproof.

This season, Northwave’s conventional boot line contains eleven models, with six new styles. The company will also launch its new line of step-in soft boots compatible with the Switch Autolock system.

Northwave’s Thermo Formature construction will be introduced on both step-in and conventional boots, as will its Web System and new overlap liner that works with the boot tongue to reduce binding-strap pressure and aid in heel retention.

Of its six new conventional boot styles, Northwave will offer two women’s and four men’s-specific models for freestylers and freeriders. Returning will be updated versions of the popular Apollo and women’s-only Infinity and Tempest models. All boots are available in several tone-on-tone colors, as well as multi-colored offerings with contrasting accents. All conventional boots will be designed around an integrated highback support system that works in conjunction with the highbacks of standard bindings, as well as a uniform tongue shape in all boots that conforms to a rider’s foot for maximum comfort.

Designed to offer soft-boot feel and the performance that Northwave is known for, its three new step-in boots will feature a Switch-compatible interface molded into a Northwave-designed, low-profile, direct-injection sole. All three boots will work with any binding equipped with a highback utilizing Switch technology, such as the new Drake step-in bindings. These boots will also be available in an array of unique color combinations.

This year, Northwave will use Thermo-Formature construction on all models for ’99/00. This technologically advanced process adds a thermal structure to the boot uppers, maintaining flex and reducing natural material breakdown over a season’s use. These boots will also make use of their new Web System that works with the boot’s laces to increase overall boot support.

Northwave will offer four adult liners, one kids’ liner, and debut a new, ultralight overlapping design. Returning is Northwave’s exclusive Biomex system in several liners, offering riders superior ankle support. Two new soles will also be introduced, both integrating Northwave’s direct-injection process that does away with any sewing or gluing for the lightest and most waterproof sole construction available.

Oakley’s A Frame goggles use the company’s proven Polaric Ellipsoid lens geometry with strategically placed surge ports to maintain a circular flow of fog-cutting ventilation, and rugged urethane frames that remain flexible in freezing conditions. The A Frame’s dual-lens technology establishes a thermal shield against condensation while providing optical clarity and peripheral vision.

One Ball Jay will offer five new custom heavyweight beanie designs with new logos, and fleece covering the ears on the inside. There will be four new brushed twill ballcaps with new logo designs. Also look for seven new T-shirt designs and three girl T-shirts, three new hooded sweatshirt designs including one zipper hooded with logo embrodiery and one crew-neck sweatshirt with a screen design.

One Ball Jay manufactures over 70 different types of snowboard waxes in house, including the Premium Race Wax. For 1999, OBJ has developed two new wax products, including a highly fluorinated Paste wax in a semi-liquid state that’s best used on hill or at home for a quick fix to get down the mountain. Also new is the Cork wax–a universal rub-on wax that comes with a cork to polish the wax into the base. Cork wax is packaged in a custom-made plastic shell. Both of these products are packaged and priced for a quick sell-through.

OBJ carries a complete line of high-end race waxes including pure fluorcarbon speed overlays that are a fraction of the cost of other brands.

One Ball Jay offers all the tools customers need to properly tune a board prior to hot waxing: edge bevelers, edge file tools, files, structure tools, tuning stones, scrapers, brushes, texture pads, sandpaper, tuning kits, irons, and bench clamps to hot wax a board.

There will also be six new traction pads with new packaging and designs including three clear pads with printed logos and three foam pads with diecut logos. Also look for toe and heel lift kits, five new leash designs, and new stickers and banners.

Onetrack is offering an all-new technical freestyle board tuned especially for rotational moves. With a super-low swing weight and high strength-to-weight ratio, the Onetrack Heaven and Hell model features a metallic topsheet, woodcore, graphite 4000 base, carbon fiber, and comes in sizes 154, 156, and 158 cm.

For the freerider who wants true progressive sidecut, the Onetrack Thruster is all new for the coming season. The new molds break away from the standard directional series in both specs and feel. The Onetrack Thruster has pearl topsheet material, a woodcore, sintered 2000 base, full-perimeter 85-degree cap construction, and comes in sizes 158, 162, and 165 cm.

Also new is the Rocketman, a directional twin that utilizes a directional flex pattern over a freestyle shape in sizes 153, 155, and 158 cm. The Directional Proline and Directional Inner Peace models will also be available in 139, 144, 149, 154, 156, 164, 169, and 174 cm sizes. All are full-perimeter 85-degree cap construction.

Onetrack will add technical wear to its collection, along with its custom embroidered fleecewear and logowear. The technical wear will be full waterproof Ultrex with taped seams. All Onetrack clothing is made in Canada, which means great quality and great pricing due to the exchange rate of the U.S. dollar.

O’Neill’s ’99/00 outerwear is the most technical product line the company has ever introduced. It will be offering four different technical fabric series, each with different levels of waterproofness, breathability, and technical features. The waterproof performance of these series will range from 1,200 mm PU-coated two-ply nylon to a 10,000 mm two-layer laminated nylon faille. O’Neill will continue to offer men’s, women’s, and youth outerwear as well as sweaters, hats, and fleece.

Also new for 1999/2000, will be two technical snowboard/ski packs.

Optic Nerve is expanding its pylenium polarized Optic Nerve collection for 1999. Look for the program to get a totally new logo and identity package as well as up-graded, interchangeable display graphics. Its new style-trend response system will go into effect for 1999 making it possible to respond quickly to industry shifts and changes like color, styling, and technology. The name of the game in the sunglass industry is change. In addition to Optic Nerve’s major annual catalog launch, it will stagger two new style introductions of three to four fresh, hot new styles.

The Super Cap, available in sizes 144, 148, 152, 156, 159, and 163 cm, will feature an all-new directional freeride shape, including Option’s V-Core and Booster Tail performance profiles. The Redline, available in sizes 141, 144, 148, 152, 156, 159, and 163 cm, has been redesigned and will now feature upgraded materials including sintered 2000 pre-pigmented and dye-cut logo bases. The Redline’s performance design has V-Core and Booster Tail technology with Option’s advanced Ultra Cap construction. Like its leaner cousin, Redline, the Booter has been redesigned with the same materials in sizes 154, 158, 162, and 166 cm. The Signature series has new features including our new Carbon Tech construction and Power Rail core–pre-cured fiberglass with carbon fiber barrels and a graphite base. The Signature’s nose and tail shapes have been changed and are available in sizes 149, 153, 157, 160, 163, and 167 cm. The Super Charger, available in sizes 158, 163, 168, and 173 cm, also uses Carbon Tech construction and power rail core. Like the Booter, the Super Charger is designed using quadratic sidecuts that enable this board to turn on a dime, without sacrificing critical waist width. Jason Chatfield’s 1999/2000 Pro Model, sizes 152 and 156 cm, combines Ultra Cap construction with Option’s new 3D-V2 core design. The new carbon fiber Power Rail combined with an aggressive sidecut radius increases torsional rigidity.

Kevin Sansalone’s board, sizes 154 and 158 cm, features Option’s new Carbon Tech construction, incorporating the classic feel of a 100 percent woodcore with the high-performance, lightweight properties of carbon fiber. Jay Nelson’s model features extreme sidecut, directional design, and Option’s Carbon Tech construction in sizes 153 and 159 cm.

The Option Carbon Tech combines the design of the heelcup and highback to provide fit with virtually no heel slippage. The Carbon Tech is light, responsive, comfortable, and durable. The Option All-Mountain binding has an asymmetric design combining a plastic baseplate, ergonomic 3D highback, and an aluminum heelcup for lightweight performance. The Option Freeride binding features a new ergonomic 3D highback for improved performance with comfy padding and a dual-ratcheting system on the ankle strap for quick adjustment. The Joker series, available in sizes 108, 119, and 129 cm, is for the little rippers of the new millenium. The Globe series(139, 145, 149, 155, and 159 cm), has a directional shape for the price-conscious rider who will not sacrifice quality. Features for both series include full tip-to-tail woodcore, 360-degree cap construction, full-wrap edges, four-by-four stainless capped inserts, and diamond-disc edge finish.

The LRS series, (144, 149, and 154 cm), is built for lighter-weight riders. Features include full tip-to-tail super-light woodcores, 360-degree cap construction, full-wrap edge, diamond-disc edge finish, directional shape, and progressive sidecut. The Vibe series, in sizes 148, 154, 158, 163, and 169 cm, is built to handle the entire mountain. It has full tip-to-tail woodcore, 360-degree cap construction, full-wrap edge, diamond-disc edge finish, microstone base finish, vertical carbon and Kevlar stringers, and directional shape and flex. The Vibe Plus series is for big feet and comes in sizes 153, 159, and 164 cm, with features that include full tip-to-tail superlight woodcores, progressive sidecut, full-wrap edge, directional shape and flex, and vertical carbon and Kevlar stringers.

Engineered for boardercross, the Supercross series in 157 and 164 cm is a narrow, directional shape built for speed with features like the Isospeed 7,700 sintered base and new Powerwing "X" technology. The Supreme series, in 148, 153, 156, and 161 cm, is for technical freestyle riding. It has a super-light 3-D milled woodcore, carbon and Kevlar stringers, Isospeed 7,500 sintered base, and new powerwing "X" technology. The FR series, in sizes 139, 148, 157, and 166 cm, is an Alpine-freecarve board with full tip-to-tail hardwood woodcore, redesigned shape with top profiles, and all-terrain versatility.

The Apex series comes in sizes 147, 153, 158, and 165 cm, and is a full-suspension carving product with redesigned 3-D Beta technology where the elastomere element in the top layer allows a free-floating core. The Apex also includes diagonal-woven carbon layers on both the top and the bottom.

The Proton series, which comes in sizes 149, 156, 160, 164, 168, 172, and 178 cm, is the ultimate in race engineering and features titanium-carbon speed cap construction, redesigned 3-D profiles, Isospeed 7,700 sintered base, and optimized response.

Oxygen’s Basic boot will come in sizes 23.5 to 30.0 and is based on the ’98/99 Basic boot. For the price-conscious newcomer, it features a lacing liner, two-component sole with integrated dampening system, and new colors.

The new Device-compatible boots start with the Globe boot for price-conscious riders. It features a new outsole design with an EVA internal midsole for additional shock absorption and a liner with internal powerstrap for perfect heel fit.

The Mercury boot has men’s and women’s models available. Hiking the pipe or freeriding the groomers, you will have no problems with this boot. The Mercury has a new outsole with an EVA roll bar to stabilize the sole performance, fast-lacing loop inserts, and new density heat-moldable liners.

The Universal is a soft binding available in small/medium and medium/large sizes and has an asymmetrical baseplate, climber ratchets, and new colors. The Children’s soft biding is a one-size-fits-all version based on Oxygen’s ’98/99 version. It features rotational highback, climber ratchets, and new colors. The Freestyle Pro binding, in sizes small/medium and medium/large, is based on the ’98/99 version, and has an asymmetrical baseplate, aluminum heel loop, cordura straps, Aluminum climber ratchets, toolless forward-lean adjustment, and new colors.

Oxygen’s Device-interface bindings start with the SI binding featuring a symmetrical baseplate, fully adjustable forward lean, Aluminum heel loop, and highback window for visual engagement.
