Bear Mountain Chooses New Ad Agency

The Orange Zone, a new division of T & O Advertising, will develop a new marketing and advertising campaign for Bear Mountain. The mountain is planning several major developments that will affect Southern California's snowboard and ski scene and The Orange Zone hopes to emphasize these, while reinventing and rebuilding the image of Bear Mountain.

Booth Creek Ski Holdings Chooses WorldRes For Online Packages

WorldRes, Inc., the Internet-based hotel reservation network, announced it has signed an agreement with Booth Creek Ski Holdings, Inc. that will enable its resorts to generate revenuethrough the online sale of confirmed lodging and packages.

This partnership will allow the eleven Booth Creek resorts to sell real-time packages not only through their individual Web sites, but also through the WorldRes Network of distribution partners, including Resort Sports Network (www.rsn.com).

Squaw Valley Ski Corp. Improvements

Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe, California has invested 30-million dollars during the past three years for mountain improvements that were completed this summer.

The resort installed the first Funitel in North America, a new Pulse lift to connect the two mid-mountain complexes and added new cars for the aerial tram. Another 250-million is being invested on Intrawest's full-service pedestrian village located at the base of the mountain.

Copper Offers Season Passes For Volunteers

New for the 1998/99 season, Copper Mountain has launched a "Park and Pipe Volunteer Program," in which local riders will volunteer fifteen days of work-from helping with major events to raking the pipe-throughout the season in exchange for a full season pass.

Gunstock Additions And Improvements

Gunstock resort in Gilford, New Hampshire has added a snowboard shop to the main lodge, expanding Gunstock's rental inventory 300 percent and doubling service and repair. Also new for this season is a second halfpipe, Ricochet Terrain Park will be revamped, and the resort acquired a new Pisten Bully Halfpipe Shredder.

Special ticket prices have been added: Value Mondays (non-holiday) adults and teens ride for twenty dollars, children and seniors for ten dollars; Family and Friend Sunday Four Pack is 99 dollars for two adults, two teens, one child, and one senior; and Prime Time Tuesdays through Saturdays offers over thirteen hours of riding time for 29 dollars.

Intrawest Offers First Tracks Of The New Millennium

Seven lucky snowboarders or skiers will win a trip for two to carve fresh tracks into the new millennium at seven Intrawest mountain resorts. Plus one grand-prize winner will celebrate New Year's 2000 with a guest at the Intrawest resort of their choice as well as free riding or skiing for six additional weeks over the next two years.
