Snowboarding Life Top 25: Sims Daytona

November 6, 2000

With a slightly stiffer nose than tail (the opposite of almost every other board in the Top 25), the unique flex pattern of Sims Daytona allows riders to initiate turns more aggressively, and to maintain a more powerful, centered riding position.

Way too much for some, the Daytona definitely comes across stiff. But under the technical toes of a knowing rider, this race-bred powerhouse will get you where you want to go like no other. As Lisa said, "If you ride fast and aggressively [like she does], this is your board."

This is the choice for strong riders, or hardpack and getting-harder conditions. Absolutely wreck your friends on the Nastar course, but leave this one behind on heli trips.

For more info on this board click here for the 2001 Buyer's Guide Setup Selector.
