Guru Jazzamatazz: Streetsoul Virgin Records In the great garage of hip-hop, Gangstarr ... I mean, Guru's Jazzmatazz: Streetsoul is a 2005 Benz G-class SUV. The vehicle is parked in space K-5 on the east wing next to Jay-2's Bentley and L.L.'s Jeep. With composite-alloy body panels and a stealth shape, the car's sleek style is unlike most of the whips in the garage-yet it fits (maybe because of the twenty-inch chromes). A peek inside the dark tints reveals plenty of legroom for the ladies: Angie Stone, Erykah Badu, and Macy Gray; plus enough seating for Herbie Hancock, Donnel Jones, Issac Hayes, DJ Scratch, DJ Premier, and even the roots from the Illadelph. Crates of soul, hip-hop, R&B;, and of course jazz vinyl fill the back cargo area beside the 1,200s. Three-hundred horsepower of smooth all-wheel-drive quickness produced by a socially responsible no-emissions engine make this hybrid vehicle a welcome positive force for the street. Lucky for Guru, this SUV also has an alarm.-Jon Kramer
95 South Tightwork 3000 RCA Down a few levels, past lil' Wayne's Hummer and Juvi's Rover truck, way down on the farthest southern tip of the garage, is 95 South's Tightwork 3000. Illegally parked in a handicapped space, the dusty 1987 teal Geo Tracker sits on bulldogged thirteen-inch gold-spoked Daytons and looks as if it's been there since 1993. Faded flamingo-pink "Whoot, There It Is" graphics and airbrushed murals of thong-cladded Nubian princesses embrace the vehicle's hood and doors. Miami is definitely in the house.
Daddy Black and Abe traded in the record crates for a wall of eighteen-inch Fosgate subwoofers mounted in the back of the Tracker. Without a roof, the roll bar begs to be gripped up by rump-shakin' honeys who aren't afraid to get wet. Is it spring break yet? My only concern is for the lovely ladies' safety when the booty-quakin' bass begins to drop. Buckle up.-Jon Kramer
