Open Mic By Matt Donahue September 1, 1998
To me, the lion represents a symbol of pride and power. Roaming on the plains of the Serengeti, he hunts for food. King of kings, he fears nothing.
I am a Leo and believe that the signs of the zodiac weigh strongly on people's character. This painting of the lion is a self-portrait. I painted it in the summer of '97 at Mike Parillo's studio in Laguna Beach, California. Since then, I've reinvented myself as Leo. My friends call me Leo, my mom calls me Leo, and I am Don Leo L' amour.
The name suits me much better than Matt.
