US Open Giant Slalom Wrap-Up

This year Snowboarder's Mark Sullivan and Burton's David Schriber decided
to hold the first vintage board race. Sulli outdid Schriber, even though
Schriber had a 205 Safari. After the race, the Coglhins grabbed the
boards and took a couple runs, then fielded endless questions about the
old boards. They told most that the boards were actually experimental
models for next year's Burton line. People believed it.
Snowboarder contributor Pat Bridges has been announcing the last two
days, and decided to try his luck at the big air. His first jump, on a
newly tuned board thanks to Red's Chris Mask, overshot the landing,
caught his edge, and landed on his head. He was out cold, but it could
have been worse if not for his new Red helmet. After he came to, he hiked
Dave Schriber, Second place in vintage.

back up, announced some more, then tried his second attempt. This time he
went a lot slower and landed right on the edge of the transistion. You
could almost here his knee pop. Finals of the big air coming up tonight.
