LIL' BASTARDS
(Iris Snow)
Claire.com Desgouttes
(December 27, 1999)

Sponsors: Iris Snow

Riders: Devun Walsh, Dionne Delesalle, Max Jenke, Chris Brown, JF Pelchat, Mikey LeBlanc, Nate Cole, Kale Stephens, Joel Mahaffey, Rob Dow, and Dave Cashen in over 30 countries

Comments:

Unlike a many snowboard videos, Lil Bastards provides the viewer some entertainment beyond snowboarding. You will see skateboarding, wrestling, jet boating, snowmobiling, GT snow racing, golf, late night brawls, off-roading in New Zealand in a rental car, food fights, vehicular food fights, naked wrestling, drinking, gambling and pulling chicks.

While the actual snowboarding footage is not up to the TB/Standard Films caliber, it still provides impressive powder turns, a good mix of style, location, terrain, and technical Mack Dawg-like rail sliding and huge hit hucking, flipping and spinning.

Other highlights include: Chris Brown running the Ninja get-up during multiple clips, photographer Scott Serfas, taking a dump out in the wildlife, and late night art projects. The soundtrack is the best I have ever heard, including hip-hop, Backstreet Boys (during Max Jenke's part) and other appropriate songs to each clip and/or personality.

Cheers to the Wildcats and Iris Snow for making this video and a special thanks to whoever helped raise these "lil bastards".

Star Performances

Best Puke: It was an even race between Kale Stephens and Dave Cashen until the end, when Kale scored bonus points with the value added snot rocket.

Best Performance by a Fan: No doubt about it, hands down, this was the funniest part of the whole video. When Devun threw an Iris beanie into the crowd at a contest, this girl caught it and lost her shit, freaking out and screaming in her native tongue, "killer!" I am positive she sleeps with the beanie every night.

Best Fall: Sean Johnson with a tight tree turn to face plant.

Most Creative and Frequent Dance Moves: Devun Walsh

Best "Mission: Pass Out": 007 Walsh with two nominations.

Best Effort Pulling Chicks: A tie between Chris Brown (hot tub) and Max Jenke (dance floor).

Most appropriate song: Three-way tie: JF PelchatScorpions, "Rock You Like a Hurricane" Max JenkeBackstreet Boys, "Larger than life" Nate BozungChristina Aguilera, "Genie in a Bottle"

Longest Rail: Brian Thein.
