Burton Employees Poach Stowe

October 13, 2000

The hike up. Photo: McVeigh

Hello from Vermont. With a record foliage upon us, the Green Mountain State has turned a little white as of late. With a rash of small squalls this past weekend, nobody was ready for the dump Mount Mansfield (Stowe) received in the overnight hours of October 10th. Thats right, October 10th!

With more than a foot and a half of fresh snow fallen by dawn on Wednesday (the 11th), there was nothing left to do for some Burton employees but suit up, and slash the berm. Bottomless turns top to bottom, without a soul in sight.

Ahhh, its good to be back on the stick. If this is any indication for what Mother Nature has in store for the winter of 01 in the Northeast, get out the snorkels.
