Girls Learn To Ride At Mountain High By Press Release December 12, 2001 Laguna Beach, CA - December 10, 2001 - Girls Learn To Ride organizer Mark Sperling announced today that the innovative series of girls only action sport clinics will present a snowboarding day on Sunday, December 16, 2001, at Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood, CA.
The Girls Learn To Ride snowboarding event is open to girls aged 9 to 90 and gives females the chance to learn how to snowboard in a relaxed and fun environment. The event includes a twohour snowboarding lesson, a full day lift ticket, snowboard and boot rental, a raffle of snowboarding gear and more, as well as a goodie bag containing CDs and other prizes. Lessons will take place at 9am, 10am, 11am, and noon. The cost is $29.00 with $2.00 of each ticket going to the Boarding For Breast Cancer Fund, which supports breast cancer research.
In addition to snowboarding fun, the event will include a festival area at the base of the mountain, which will feature snowboard retailers and the Ladies Lounge, a traveling music and action sport festival designed to promote the interests of young females across America. Ladies Lounge will also host an after party open to the public of all ages and genders. The party will begin at 2:30pm at the Bull Wheel Saloon and Restaurant and will feature a concert by the Halo Friendlies and Lo-Ball. Girls Learn To Ride, now in its third year, is a series of one-day clinics during which girls of all ages are given the chance to learn sports typically dominated by boys and men; such as skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, wakeboarding, and motocross in a relaxing, safe, and fun environment. Girls Learn To Ride hopes to encourage and empower girls of all ages to learn, love and participate in these sports right along side the boys. In 2002, Girls Learn To Ride will launch a series of nation-wide clinics, with details to follow.
