HCSC Photo Workshop a Success By Press Release May 2, 2002 Over the weekend of April 25-28, 2002 High Cascade Snowboard Camp in conjunction with Trevor Graves and the Brooks Institute of Photography hosted one of the worlds first snowboard photography workshops. The workshop included professional instruction from the snowboard industries leading photographers, Trevor Graves, Jon Foster, Embry Rucker, and Kevin Zacher.
Each day students where given on-hill demonstrations on a variety of photo shoot scenarios. Each class outlined the necessary steps in getting a professional snowboard photo shoot underway including, finding and building terrain features, working in a variety of snow conditions, and developing a working relationship with snowboard talent.
Student film was processed each day for evening review and critique. In addition to learning from each others work, the evenings provided time for topic lectures, Q&A; time, and lifestyle photography practice.
The workshop was held at Mt. Hood, Oregon at both Timberline and Mt. Hood Meadows ski areas during the Vegetate Snowboard event weekend. On Sunday students had the opportunity to shoot photos of the Mac Dawg big air exhibition.
The workshop was a raging success, look for new workshop dates to come!
