SNOWRYDER April '97 SnowRyder calls itself a "product" magazine. This means there are ads which show product and then there is editorial that shows product. Telling the difference between the two can be difficult at times. The idea, however, is great: a magazine that focuses on snowboarding equipment. Tucked in between the ads this issue are: step-in bindings revisited; a story on things you should carry in your pack; a profile of Brotherhood Snowboards; a field trip to Ride's Corona manufacturing facility; an interview with Chuck "The Buddha of Snowboarding" Barfoot; a Shawn Frederick photo portfolio; and a sneak-peek at all the new boards from the major players. When you compare this to the big mag's Buyer's Guides that come out in August it comes up short, however, it came out in March getting the jump on the big guys by four months. If you really want to see the new stuff SnowRyder is worth buying. |
