Hey, did you miss us? Well, we missed you. And to show you just how much we did, we're going to give you a serious dose of what's new on SOL. Sure, it's what we always give you, but this time we really mean it.

OBE BIG AIR AND CONCERT SERIES
Jim Rippey just walked about with $3000 at Sugar Bowl just before Sugar Ray began their set. Confused? Don't be. Check out coverage of the El Nino Big Air and Live Concert from Tahoe.

GEARED UP AND READY TO RUCK
SOL equipment guru Chris Hansen checks out 11 new object o' technology including a new digital avalanche beacon and a tin of ginsing chew. Yum.

1998 US OPEN FROM STRATTON MOUNTAIN
It was a weird year at the Open. The weather didn't cooperate and some curious things went on during the halfpipe. But Rob Kingwill won the pipe, Mark Fawcett ruled the Super G, and Karl-Heinz Zangerl took the slalom, so there's really nothing to complain about.

AST NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
Lisa Kosglow and Tricia Byrnes repeated their titles, but this year Keir Dillon and Chris Klug joined in the fun. Interviews, photos, and complete results from the Finals at Mt. Snow.

BOARD AID 5
Condom balloons caught air drafts from the heat of the growing mosh pit as The Offspring took to the stage at the fifth annual BoardAID for LIFEbeat event March 15, at Bear Mountain, California. If that doesn't make you want to read the story nothing will.

UPCOMING
If you want to see what's going on around the world of snowboarding check out the calendar. Afterall, that's why we call it a calendar.
