Joyride
Video Featured On Apple Computer's Website

In what is really a stroke of luck, a 30-second promotional video
for Joyride Snowboards is being shown on Apple Computer's web site
to promote the features of Apples new video editing software, Final
Cut Pro.
"The
video is actually a commercial we made for Progression Video Magazine,
an action-sports show that airs on local cable networks like RSN
and also as a spot for Fox Network’s coverage of the AST tour,"
says Stefan Jeremias, International Sales and Promotions Director
at Joyride.
Jeremias hired Venice, California based Gadget School to produce
the video. "They do quite a bit of advanced work with Apple editing
systems. What they created for us is basically a digital collage
set to techno that features our team riders and products. It incorporates
film footage with 3D animation. It has a cool, contemporary vibe,"
Jeremias says.
The video made it's way to Apple's web site through Saam Gabbay,
a graphic artist/animator that Gadget school contracted to do the
3D animation. "Sam was beta testing Apple's new software," explains
Mark Jeremias, Stefan's brother and partner in Gadget School. "Those
companies will often give us software to try out because we do a
lot of production for broadcast and they see that as a high-end
market."
When Apple saw the Joyride video on one of their test sites, they
liked it enough to post it on their consumer site as a sample of
how the new software works.
The free advertising on one of the most heavily-trafficked sites
on the web certainly doesn't bother Joyride. "We've been getting
a lot of phone calls about it, especially from artists and art students,"
Stefan Jeremias says.
