SIA Fills Two Staff Vacancies

August 11, 2000

SIA recently named Jennifer Larus as coordinator of SIA-funded consumer marketing programs and Laura Benjamin as receptionist to its headquarters staff.

Larus, SIA's Consumer Events Coordinator, will work with sponsors, media and program administrators as she manages the four programs funded by SIA. She fills an existing staff opening in the sales and market development department.

SIA will fund, sponsor or administer the four consumer marketing programs this coming winter -- Snowlink.com's Donate-a-Ski/Donate-a-Board, SnowTrax and Take Your Daughter to the Snow Week, as well as Winter Trails

Larus, originally from the Norfolk, Va., area, previously worked for OpSail 2000 as the special events assistant. A graduate of Longwood College in Virginia, she is currently working on her Masters in Event Management at The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. An avid skier, Larus also enjoys training and showing horses, sailing and hiking.

Benjamin, SIA's Receptionist, brings years of diverse work experience to the association. As receptionist, Benjamin is SIA's first point of contact for members and the general public who call or drop by the office. She also is responsible for various administrative tasks.

Originally from Colorado, Benjamin has lived in Northern Virginia for two years. She attended Bishop College in Dallas, Texas and the University of Omaha.
