Rossi Sales Up 25% For First Half

By Press Release

October 31, 2000

The French sporting goods company Skis Rossignol SA reported that its half-year sales were up 25 percent due to increases in snowboards, accessories, and golf equipment.

Sales went to 201-million euros ($166-million) in the six months ended Sept. 30, from 125-million euros in the year earlier period, the company reported in a faxed out statement.

The biggest gain was in Rossignol's snowboard division, where sales have gone up 69 percent, because of to the recent acquisition of Grand Chavin Snowboards. Excluding the purchase, sales at the unit rose 48 percent. Sales of golf equipment rose 58.5 percent to 48-million euros.

The order-book situation makes it easy to predict a net progression in winter-sports goods sales for the whole year, the company said.
