Split Hires Two New Managers

November 8, 2000

Huntington Beach, CA -- Split, the Southern California-based board-sport clothing company announced the additions of Christina Smith and Ronny Nelson to the growing Split family. Smith joins the team in the newly created position of Sales Manager for the Split Girl line and Nelson has been appointed Team and Promotions Manager for all sports.

Smith came to Split from Rusty where she held the position of sales rep for Orange and Los Angeles Counties. Prior to Rusty she worked as a manager and buyer for a chain of leading surf/skate/snow retail shops. At Split, her responsibilities will include overseeing the growth and direction of the Split girls line.

"Christina is an amazing asset to this company," says Joe Seemayer, Director of Sales at Split. "She has the ability and drive to really blow-up our girls collection."

Nelson came to Split from Globe where he served as Surf Team Manager. Prior to Globe, he worked as an Assistant Manager for Rusty. His responsibilities will include overseeing all sixty professional surf, skate, snow, wake, BMX and motocross athletes sponsored by Split. In addition, he will handle all grass roots, retail and national promotions.

"Split is a creative company that continues to grow at a fast pace. I feel lucky and excited to work with this group of athletes and to be a part of the Split team," says Nelson.

Split rose out of the California Central Coast in the wake of the mid-80s skateboarding boom. College-friends David Patri, Scott VanDerripe and Scott Bailey founded the company to combine each of their talents and live for their passion of skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding and music. The Split collections feature original designs intended to fit the board-sport lifestyle. Split offers an innovative alternative to the mainstream clothing market. Split designs are currently distributed in over 1400 specialty stores throughout the USA, through 4 distributors worldwide and licensed in Australia, Europe and Canada.
