TransWorld Takes Industry Boarding At Snow Summit

By Aaron Checkwood

February 12, 2001

After three long days of bright lights, shaking hands, and feeling crusty, anybody who went to the ASR show in Long Beach needed a getaway to refocus and breathe some clean air. And in Southern California theres no better place than Snow Summit and its incredible snowboarding terrain.

The Volcom crew. Who's at the office?

Sponsored by Snow Summit and TransWorld, the snowboard and surf industry was invited for a day of boarding, food, and beer -- and the approximately 100 people who showed definitely took advantage of the time. The mix of everyone attending ranged from employees of companies such as Dragon, Alphanumeric, Smith, Spy, Volcom, ONeill, Reef, Active Ride Shops, Ezekiel, and Rusty.

Spy's John Lee.

After an incredible lunch buffet on top of the mountain and the weather warming up, everyone was taking advantage of the soft snow and the super short lift lines. Some pro surfers were taking advantage of the snow time to get ready for next weekend's H2O contest. After the day ended, everyone got together in the main lodge for some more food and beer and a DJ spinning away. All in all, it was safe to say the day was a success and special thanks go out to Genevieve and Gunny and all the employees of Snow Summit who made the day happen. Until next year.

Special thanks to Gunny and Genevieve Gunnarson and the whole Snow Summit staff.
