Ragged Mountain And Blue Hills Hire Eric Webster

By Press Release

July 30, 2001

Danbury, NH & Canton, MA - Ragged Mountain Resort and Blue Hills Ski Area announce the appointment of Eric Webster to the position of Snowboard Director for both ski areas. Webster will oversee all terrain development, instruction and snowboard marketing & promotion in both states.

Webster comes to Ragged from Vermont where he managed the snowboard program and facilities at Killington/Pico. In addition to involvement at snowboarding programs at areas in Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire, Webster is currently the Technical Advisor for the Grand Prix Series, North Americas Olympic Qualifying Series for snowboarding. He is also the recipient of the 2001 USSA Annya Mcyntire Citation Award for the advancement and promotion of snow competition in the United States.

Webster combines his 16 years of snowboarding experience with a clear & focused direction for both areas. He plans to unite a strong program with strong terrain. "Having an excellent learning facility at Ragged makes my job easy," stated Webster. "Ragged already offers a variety of expert steeps, intermediate cruisers and of course, gladesthe perfect mix for riders and skiers of all abilities."

Webster intends to accomplish his goal by developing world class snowboard terrain for both resorts, hosting special events, creating new marketing initiatives and developing unique learning programs for snowboarders of all ability levels.

Blue Hills Ski Area, in Canton, MA is in its second year of operation under Ragged Mountain Resorts control. Webster is excited at the prospect of promoting snowboarding at both areas. He plans to peak riders interest at Blue Hills and send them "up North" to ride at Ragged.

"There is a lot of untapped potential at Blue Hills. Once our snowboarding terrain is set at Blue Hills, we'll have the first snowboard park inside Rt. 128!" Webster added, "The union of Ragged Mountain and Blue Hills is a great match."

Webster will be based at Ragged Mountain Resort and will be joined by his wife, daughter and "LJ", the family dog. As a 1987 graduate of Plymouth State College, Webster and his family are looking forward to returning to the Granite State. FYI! Ragged Mountain Resort is a privately owned ski/golf resort, owned & operated by Endriunas Brothers Inc. of Easton Massachusetts. They purchased the ski area in the late 80's and have invested millions in capitol improvements. The resort now boasts an 18-hole championship golf course, 3 peaks, 95% snowmaking and new this year construction of slope-side lodging and the first 6-seater, high speed detachable lift in the state of New Hampshire. The Endriunas brothers have expanded their focus to Blue Hills Ski Area in Canton, Massachusetts as they enter their second year of operating the area, located just minutes from downtown Boston.
