Sport Chalet Opens 22nd Store

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 5 -- Sport Chalet, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPCH), Southern California's leading specialty sporting goods retailer celebrates the grand opening of its new 43,000 sq. ft. store in Temecula, California. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for the weekend of November 12, 13, and 14th. Special activities include in-line skate demos by the Los Angeles Kings group, Gail Webb's Extreme Sports and Air Show, a Bungee Trampoline, and a Climbing Wall.

Kurt Rambis of Los Angeles Laker fame will be at the Grand Opening festivities, as well as Jason Collins, world renowned professional surfer, and Eric Rupe, BMX bike-racing champion. Additionally, Sport Chalet will offer hundreds of prizes and give-aways all weekend long. The event is expected to draw not only the extreme sports enthusiast, but also offer entertainment and excitement for the entire family.

The Temecula location is Sport Chalet's 22nd store, and its first in the Low Desert/Riverside County area. Concurrent to the Temecula store opening, the La Jolla Sport Chalet location in San Diego County has been re-located to a new, larger facility in the University Towne Center and will hold a grand re-opening the same weekend.

Norbert Olberz, Chairman of the Board, founded Sport Chalet in 1959. In honor of the Company's 40th Anniversary, Sport Chalet is having a sweepstakes drawing for over $100,000 in prizes. The final week of festivities and the drawing is scheduled for November 20th.
