American Skiing Company Teams With Swatch/Palmer Snowboards To Build Boardercross Courses.

Newry, ME--Palmer Snowboards, Swatch, and American Skiing Co. announced plans to build permanent boardercross courses this season at all resorts nationwide. Boardercross snowboard racing is one of the sport's fastest growing disciplines. With that, the addition of Swatch Palmer X Parks is a welcomed sight at all resorts. As a snowboarding contender even for the 2002 Olympics, boardercross was dubbed, "The Next Big Thing" by Outside magazine.

What is the difference from other parks? Most parks are made up of artificial elements replicating natural mountain features that include various jumps, table tops, banked turns, and quarter pipes. What distingues a boardercross park from a terrain park is that each element flows into the other. Skiers and snowboarders take the course as one fluid run, instead of the traditional way ó stopping between hits.

Swatch Palmer X Parks will be featured at American Skiing Company resort events such as Bud Light BoarderFest and Swatch Palmer X Park series. (Event schedule attached.)

American Skiing Co., headquartered in Newry, Maine, is the largest operator and owner of alpine ski, snowboard, and golf resorts in the United States.
