PR: Gen-X Buys Lamar Snowboards

(Press Release)-Gen-X Holdings Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary
of Global Sports Inc. (Nasdaq: GSPT) and a leading marketer and distributor
of actions sports products, announced the acquisition of Lamar Snowboards,
Inc.
Gen-X CEO Jamie Salter and President and CFO Kenny Finkelstein will
head up the management team of Lamar that will consist of Corrine Griffiths
as the vice president of Action Sports, Bill Dey as the vice president
of sales, the managing director of Gen-X Equipment AG Marco Pilotto, and
Lamar Founder Bert Lamar.
"I am very excited about the acquisition of Lamar by Gen-X,"
says Lamar. "Gen-X has the organization and the financial resources
necessary for Lamar to become a significant player in the snowboard industry."
Gen-X is also pleased to announce the addition of Marco Pilotto, as
managing director of its European subsidiary, Gen-X Equipment AG. Pilotto
will be based in Zug, Switzerland, and will be responsible for Gen-X business
in Europe. He had been the former CEO of Surf Politix,
"Marco is a valuable addition to the Gen-X team," says Salter.
"A French national, he's an experienced veteran in the snowboard industry.
He'll not only provide the leadership necessary to expand our international
business, but his knowledge and experience on the snowboard production
side will ensure that we'll be able to provide the highest-quality product
at a very competitive price."
Global Sports, Inc. consists of two primary business lines: the branded
footwear business including Ryka, Yukon, and Apex shoe brands, and the
off- price/action sports divisions consisting of Vision Snow, Rage snow
and skate, and Dukes footwear.
