(Press Release)—Gart Sports' SNIAGRAB(R) opens in Denver this Labor Day Weekend, continuing a 44-year tradition of unbelievable bargains, incredible giveaways and unique family entertainment. "SNIAGRAB marks the beginning of the season for thousands of winter sports enthusiasts," said Doug Morton, President and CEO. "Whether it's a first-time boarder, or a seasoned skier, SNIAGRAB is the event consumers look to every year for the best deals."

SNIAGRAB officially opens to the public Saturday, September 5, 1998, 8:00 a.m, at the world-famous Sportscastle(R), 1000 Broadway. The first 100 people in line will have the chance to win one of eight Vail Resort Season Passes! Plus, for the first time this year SNIAGRAB also opens Saturday in Boulder, at a special location in the Crossroads Mall (the former "Stage" location), 1600 28th Street. Consumers can save 20-70% on over $20-million in merchandise, including incredible bargains on thousands and thousands of pairs of skis, boots, bindings, boards, poles, and outerwear.

At the Sportscastle, customers can sign up for ski resort season passes and discount cards. They can also register-to-win lift tickets from Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, Silver Creek, Copper Mountain, Eldora, Aspen, Taos, Sunlight, Monarch, Crested Butte, Steamboat and Ski Cooper, plus a one-year lease on an Isuzu Rodeo from Isuzu Dealers of Denver. Entertainment will include the U.S. Ski Team Ultimate Air Exhibition, presented by Vail Resorts, and the Big Air Vert Show, an awesome half-pipe demonstration presented by Airwalk.

This year Gart Sports has expanded its selection of skis, snowboards, bindings, boots, sunglasses and snowshoes, to provide customers with more choices and sharper prices. Customers can save as much as $380 on skis, $175 on boots and $150 on bindings.

Also, with the ever increasing popularity of snowboarding, Gart Sports has put together ten complete snowboard packages, at discounted prices with savings up to $300, that include a board, boots and bindings from top brands like Vision, Pil and Liquid.
