What’s the story on your last name?

My dad is German.

So, you’re a Euro?

I can enjoy a Warsteiner every once in a while.

What was it like growing up in Saskatchewan?

Lots of snowmobiles, dirt bikes,

hockey, and cowboys!

Any snowboarding?

Two-hundred vertical feet of cross-country snowboarding. Let’s put it this way, our largest mountain was called a table mountain.

So what brought you to Whistler?

I came out to Whistler on vacation seven years ago with my dad. It was

pretty hard not to come back after that. I moved here the following summer with a good friend of mine, Zoli Katchanoski. We were living in [resort] staff accommodations and made it through six feet of pow, lots of hangovers, and too many girls.

Anything you’d like to say, Cam?

Big ups to the Bruins, Shawn, and Trades, my boys from the Lloyds, Gallup, Berger, Dano, Kurtis Croy, and you for showing me how to take care of bidnit. [That means business, for all you non-ganstas.]

It pretty much comes down to this: There isn’t enough room in this magazine to write down all the good stories and times I’ve had with Cam. His snowboarding talent showed through six years ago when he was busting McTwists on the huge Blackcomb quarterpipe–in just his second year of snowboarding! The signs of a ruler.
