Three Pros-One CD Featured this month: SLAYER's Diabolus

Jason Bump: The long-awaited release Slayer's ninth album has arrived, and it's another wholesome blend of blood and horror from the masters of death metal. With tracks like "Death's Head" and "Overt Enemy" to get you pumped on your way to the mountain, who wouldn't throw themselves off the nearest cliff? This album gets the bloody, burnt, decaying thumbs up! Kill, kill, kill.

Cody Dresser: I suppose every band slows down sooner or later. As dark and heavy as the new Slayer is, speedy it's not. Awe-inspiring drum fills kept me listening, a far cry from the speed and fury of Reign in Blood. Change is inevitable, but I don't gotta like it!

Blue Montgomery: Slayer's kickin' ass again-a little slower these days, but still heavy as hell, featuring more of a contemporary hard core flavor. Right when Tom and the boys seem to be switching it up, they bust out-one minute and 33 seconds into "Bitter Peace" they blast back to the glory days reminiscent of "Spirit in Black" and "Angel of Death." I felt as if I was possessed by Satan the whole time, and I guarantee I'm listening to it right now.

2 Skinnee J's SUPERmercado Capricorn RecordsNot even two tracks into the 2 Skinnee J's SUPERmercado, and my roommate Jay Issacs pulled it from the CD player and chucked it. The press materials enclosed were pretty amusing. It could have been good. The 2 Skinnee J's never got a fair shot. Sorry, Skinnee dudes. -J1

It's a durable disc, and it flies like a champ!

-Jay Issacs (J1's roommate)
