    SURFING LAKE TAHOE
We beach dwellers have all have been jonesing for snow lately, but the Tahoe crew apparently misses the waves even more. On November 23, Tom Burt, Mark Fawcett, Tim Manning, Rueben Sanchez, and Sky Rondenet paddled out at Lake Tahoe in what Sky called "the biggest waves I've ever seen." Hopefully, Rueben snapped off some pictures.

    CHRIS ENGELSMAN: CAUGHT ONLINE
Pro snowboarder Chris Engelsman didn't appear in the Jockey underwear ad with the rest of the K2 snowboard team. We wondered why so we caught him online and asked him about underwear, opening day at the 'Bird, and the coming winter.

    WEATHER THOU GOEST
Get the latest snowfall totals and resort weather information on the newly redesigned Snowboarding Online Weather page. The new page includes current weather maps, forecasts, temps, snow forecasts, and local weather reports from around the world. Know before you go.

POWERS AND TAGGART WIN IN SWEDEN
Olympic Bronze medal winner Ross Powers and Michele Taggart top the field in the pipe at Tandadalen, Sweden last Sunday. Looks like the Americans are beginning the charge. Luke Wynen even made the top ten.

    WHO AM I GAME
Van Townsend of Denver, Colorado was the first of hundreds to correctly identify last week's "Who Am I" as Ali Goulet. This week may be a little harder. Guess it and you'll win a new Nintendo 64 game.

ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS; WIN FREE STUFF
Give us your personal information and you'll get a chance to win a Salomon Snowboard, World Industry Snowboard, MIA Snowboard, Bonfire Jacket, Betty Rides Jacket, or TransWorld SNOWboarding or Snowboard Life subscription. It's that easy.

MESSAGE BOARD TOPIC O' THE WEEK
When a 21-year-old New Hampshire man was killed in an early season Utah avalanche it seemed like everyone had an opinion. Some thought it was something that could not be avoided; others said they shouldn't have been out there in the first place. Either way, it's all in the Message Boards.

    ONLINE GUIDE TIPS
TV Listings on Snowboarding Online? Yes, we have them. On the front page under the DIRECTORIES heading you'll see a link to TV listings. This page lists all the TV shows which will have snowboarding, skateboarding, or surfing in them. Be sure to check the time zone listing in the upper right hand corner to make sure the times are right for you. In fact, tomorrow (25-Nov-98) on ESPN you'll find the Burton U.S. Open of Snowboarding. Check it out.

    RE: Groove
In this time of American Thanksgiving, we'd like to thank everyone for suffering through our last issue of the Groove. Getting back on the weekly schedule was not as easy as we'd hoped. In other words, issue 3.1 had a few glitches. web address in the text hotlinks to the URL."

Joseph Raymon e-mailed to ask, "Why don't any of the links work?" web address in the text hotlinks to the URL."

We'd like to thank Joseph for noticing and tell everyone else that only three of the URLs included in the last issue didn't work. Here are the corrected URLs:

  • Base Repair Tips
  • How to Wax
  • Getting Started

James Carter of Europe (EU) said, "Perhaps you should consider making the web address in the text hotlinks to the URL."

Which brings up something most people might not know: the Groove is available in three different formats; HTML, ASCI text, and AOL enhanced. Apparently, Mr. Carter was getting the ASCI version and he'd hoped he'd be getting the HTML version. web address in the text hotlinks to the URL."

And finally, our favorite letter was from Scott Wise, who nicely explained, "Would you please stop sending me your monthly (?) webzine, as it was my brother who requested you to send it, and he is no longer living here." web address in the text hotlinks to the URL."

If you're no longer living where you previously lived please read the Subscriber Services section below and follow the simple instructions. web address in the text hotlinks to the URL."
