Words From our Magazine Brethren
3/16/99
Every winter, like the Swallows of San Juan Capistrano, the editors
of TransWorld's snow magazines eschew the warmth and good cheer
of Southern California and head out into the wild white wonderland.
Their mission: to gather interesting stories, take wonderful photos,
and collect notes that will later be compiled into what is our fine
family of magazines.
Since they are out there, we thought it would be a good idea to
have them send back the occasional digital postcard; just a few
words and images about where they are, what they're doing, and what's
going on in the world of snowboarding.
The stories listed below are the record of these travels. Click
on one and follow along.
Hoy's
World
Kurt Hoy
is a contributing editor at Snowboard Life magazine
even though he does a whole lot more than contribute. He's currently
living in Avon, Colorado where he teaches snowboarding at Beaver
Creek while dreaming of making the finals in a Swatch Boardercross.

Melissity's
Fantasy
Melissa Larsen is Associate
Editor at TransWorld SNOWboarding. She's currently
based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where she is living out her long-time
fantasy of being a trustfund baby. Her hobbies include waking up
before dawn for first tram, riding powder with her friends, rejoicing
in the fact that she no longer has to work in a kitchen to live
the dream, and traveling as little as possible. Hah hah.
The SIA Tradeshow '99: Wooooooo! (3-16-98)
Powderbird
Robyn Hakes is an editor
at Snowboard Life magazine. She's much to nice to
make fun of here in the bio. If you want to know more about her
look up the definition of "sweet."
Adventures of a Recently Unshacked Rider
(3-1-99)
Shredniewski's
Travels
Dave Sypniewski is
Senior Editor at TransWorld Snowboarding. He rides
classic motorcycles, listens to Frank Zappa, and reads great literature
by the box load (or at least pretends to). He's currently based
in Encinitas, California but he travels quite often even though
he's not responsible enough to get a credit card or rent a car.
