U.S. Snowboard Team Signs Yahoo!

By Press Release

March 3, 2000

PARK CITY, Utah, March 3 -- The U.S. Snowboard Team today announced it has signed an agreement with Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO), a leading global Internet communications, commerce and media company, designating Yahoo!(R) Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com) as the Team's exclusive Internet Services sponsor.

"We are very pleased about the opportunity to work with Yahoo! and the audiences we can reach together on the Internet and live at competitions," said Todd Burnette, the Team's vice president of marketing. "Each of us brings something to this relationship. USSA provides Yahoo! with a respected and well-known off-line platform to present its brand, while Yahoo! brings global exposure to our athletes and competitions through its network and vast audience."

Through the relationship, several online events and event coverage will take place across the Yahoo! network of Web properties. Through March 10, an online sweepstakes will be offered on Yahoo! Sports where users will be offered an opportunity to register for a chance to win a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyo., March 24-26. See official rules for details regarding the sweepstakes.

In addition, Yahoo! Chat (http://chat.yahoo.com) will host live chats with U.S. Snowboard Team athletes. The first chat takes place Thurs., March 23. In addition, banner advertising across the Yahoo! network will promote the Team's presence in Yahoo! Store (http://store.yahoo.com), and the Team will provide authentic merchandise for Yahoo! Auctions (http://auctions.yahoo.com).

Yahoo! will also receive television exposure on several networks, as well as on-site marketing rights and visibility at several U.S. Snowboard Association events, including a Snowboard Grand Prix, and x-Nix U.S. Snowboard Championships in late March.

Yahoo! Sports, part of the Yahoo! network of Web properties, is a leading comprehensive source for sports news and scores, broadcast programming, free fantasy games, international and local sports event coverage, e-commerce opportunities, and a connection to the online sports community.
