(Press Release, July 6, 1998)—Seattle, Washington-based Northstar Distribution Inc. has launched a new accessory line called Ass Industries. The premier product is high-end, after-market snowboard mounting hardware called Tight Ass. Northstar Distribution has been responsible for the design and production of the MIA Snowboard brand, established in 1993.

The new Tight Ass hardware features a "Duraloc" superior thread-locking system. Duraloc is a nylon pellet embedded into the threads. When this tough, resilient pellet is engaged into an insert, a counter-force is established to create a very strong bond and excellent resistance to vibration.

"Tight Ass hardware is one of the most important accessories of all time, allowing customers to upgrade their snowboard (old or new) to a new level of quality and performance," says Northstar Marketing Director Jamie Chomo. "Our new hardware is absolutely the most efficient binding mounting system available, period. This product benefits both riders and retail stores. Shops may now not only offer a OEM-style replacement screw for sale, but offer hardware for hardgoods not sold in that store, offering a more complete service to their customers."

ASS Industries will offer hardware for almost every binding system on the market. The suggested retail price will be $4.95 for the stainless-steel versions.

"We are proud to offer unique products like our accessory line and high-end snowboards," he adds. "There are so many companies trying to copy everybody else. This shows how serious we are about snowboarding and producing the most innovative, functional product available."

Ass Industries has already recruited a strong team including the likes of Devun Walsh, Joey McGuire, Marc Frank Montoya, Nick Francke, Ali Goulet, Blue Montgomery, Jay and Erich Rehbein, Mike Ranquet, Dave Cashen, Seth Neary, Jeremy Baye, Rich Nesshover, Jesse and Lucas Huffman, and Doug and Tricia Byrnes.
