Blizzard Conditions
We've been some places, done some things,
and put up a bunch of news in the last few
weeks. Most of the nation has been hit by
their first winter storm and resorts are firing
their lifts up. We've been doing alright, too. In
fact, we recently won Web Magazine's Editor's
Choice Award for our wonderful site. They
said, "Snowboarding Online is the first place
you should visit before donning your coat and
heading to the mountains." But then you
already knew that. Yee Haw. Off to Hollywood
we go. Apparently they didn't read closely
enough to catch all our typos. Let's just keep
that our little secret.
Here's what's new on SOL:
RESORT CAMS
Know before you go with SOL's brand spankin'
new Resort Cams Index. We've got daily
digital images from 28 resorts across the
country including Mammoth, Bachelor,
Blackcomb, Breckenridge, Jackson Hole, Vail,
Copper, Vail, Boyne, Stratton, Killington, and
many more. Now you don't have to wonder.
You can see for yourself.
THE BOARD GENIE
Ever wondered if you have the right board?
Now, with the help of the interactive
SOL | Board Genie you can get a list of boards that
will work for your size and riding
requirements. Just answer a few questions
and the Board Genie will do the rest. He has
stats on close to 1000 snowboards. So he's
bound to get you fit.
1998 SOL BOARD DEMO
We took a group of six demo riders to Mt.
Hood last spring and told them to ride 85
boards and then tell us how they performed.
The results of the 1998 SOL | Demo are now
up on the web. Compare and contrast your
favorite boards with our interactive board
demo results lists. See how the board rides
before you buy.
MTV SPORTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL FROM
AUSTIN, TEXAS
We traveled to the "Live Music Capitol of the
World" to hang with Peter Line, Kevin Jones,
Jim Rippey, and 17 other snowboarders
chosen by MTV to huck for the masses in a
wicked fun made-for-TV event. Check it out
on SOL now, or and then catch it November 7
on MTV. But remember where you heard it
first.
SEQUENTIAL CIRCUS
http://www.snowboarding-online.com/slideshow/
Our photo gallery just grew to include several
animated sequences from Mt. Hood, including
photos of riders like Brian Thein, Gaetan
Chanut, Bjorn Leines and others. Check them
out. It's almost as good as video.
BEGINNER'S LUCK
Learning to snowboard or know someone who
is? Direct them to our new snowboarding tip
of the week. Every week we will have a new
tip to help you get on down the mountain.
This brings to a close the entertainment
portion of your SOL | Groove flight. Please
remove your headsets, tangle them into a
tightly wrapped ball, and place them in the
seatback in front of you.
The End.
If in some bout of insanity (or sanity) you
decide you no longer want to receive the
fabulous weekly update from the SOL | Groove
in your mailbox (your loss, not ours) point
your browser to this URL:
.
We will gladly boot your name right off of our
insider's list.
The Groove 26 was brought to you by the
wonderful people at Booth Creek. Take the
Booth Creek Snowboarding Challenge and you could win a 5-
night trip to one of five great Booth Creek
Resorts.
