    POWERS AND THOST WIN HALFPIPE AT THE FIRST STOP OF VANS TRIPLE CROWN
    It was an amazing kick off to the North American snowboard season. Ross Powers and Nicola Thost schooled the field. Kurt Hoy reports from Breckenridge.

    DIRKSEN AND DAKIDES IN VANS BIG AIR
    The Vans Triple Crown Big Air finals was ushered in with blue skies leaving the nightmare of an overcast, snowy practice day to distant memory. There were wrecks galore, but Dirksen and Dakides ruled the day.

    THREE QUESTIONS WITH NICOLA THOST
    Nicola Thost of Germany schooled the rest of the women's field in the Vans Triple Crown of Snowboarding so Kurt Hoy asked her a couple questions.

    Austrian Stephan Gimpl nets $28,500, a surfboard and an Audi Quattro A3 for winning in Innsbruck. Andrew Crawford takes second.

    FIVE TRAMPLED TO DEATH AT AIR & STYLE
    A panicked crowd of snowboarding fans stampeded out of a stadium in Innsbruck, crushing five people to death and trampling dozens of others, officials said Sunday.
