Kim Stacey Signs with Volkl

By Press Release

November 17, 1999

Portland, Maine -- Carlisle Sports Management announced today a new deal between Volkl Snowboards and Kim Stacey, the #2 ranked American FIS female half-pipe rider in the world.

Volkl is excited about its new international roster of athletes, especially Stacey. We've chosen Kim because of her youth, incredible talent and dynamic personality," said Colin Madden, Volkl's snowboard product manager.

At 19, Stacey is the only female on the three-person U.S. Volkl roster. Volkl has committed to sponsoring a ten-person international athlete roster this year and Stacey is the youngest to participate. "She is just starting to come into her own. We believe she has lots of potential and hope our relationship with her will grow into something long term," Madden continued.

"I've only been riding on my Volkl board for one month now, and I love it," Stacey says. "I'm looking forward to working with them. They put a lot into their team and their riders it feels good to know that the relationship is a two-way street. I'm helping them and they're helping me," she continued.

Stacey, a member of the U.S. "A Team", lives and trains at Stratton Mountain in Vermont. She has plans to compete in a full schedule of half-pipe competitions around the world this season.

Carlisle Sports Management is an athlete management and marketing company specializing in alternative sports.
