Swatch Boardercross World Tour Opening

November 18, 1999

A very well shaped pipe with a smooth transition for the real big airs, a rad boardercross course with amazing high-speed sections, and shiny weather (still pretty cold temperatures) welcomed everyone on the first day of the first event on the ISF World Pro Tour in Solden Austria.

In the halfpipe, it pretty soon came clear how much the summer-camps pushed the riding-limits. Great performances of all riders and sick airtimes - not just with the guys, also the girls were riding really hard, too.

First place with power-riding for World Ranking List No 1, Nicola Thost/GER (Nitro) ahead of French newcomer Dorianne Vidal (Rossignol) and Natasza Zurek/CAN (Burton).

Thierry Brunner/SUI (Sims) tonight is going to celebrate his perfect season-kickoff, he won ahead of Austrian Mr. Big, Steve Gruber (Salomon) and "hombre" Iker Fernandez/SPA (Burton).
