NEW YORK--Feb. 4, 2000--Andrew W. Clurman has been named President of TransWorld Media in addition to his duties as President and Publisher of The Skiing Company and a Vice President of Times Mirror Magazines, announced Jason E. Klein, President and Chief Operating Officer of Times Mirror Magazines.

With this promotion, Clurman joins the Times Mirror Magazines executive committee, reporting to Klein. Clurman succeeds Brian J. Sellstrom.

Separately, Times Mirror announced the appointment of Brian J. Sellstrom as Chief Executive Officer of AchieveGlobal, its professional training company. Sellstrom was Senior Vice President of Times Mirror Magazines, President of its TransWorld Media division, and Chief Executive Officer of The Skiing Company. In addition to his role at AchieveGlobal, Sellstrom has been named Chairman Emeritus of TransWorld Media.

"In 1997, Andy led The Skiing Company's relocation from New York City to Boulder, Colorado, a move that marked the beginning of the division's turnaround. Once relocated, over the course of three years Andy added three magazines to the group and developed SkiNet, TMM's first web property. As a result, The Skiing Company has enjoyed tremendous success," said Klein. "I am confident that he will take the TransWorld Media division in many new and exciting directions."

Clurman began his career at Ziff Davis as a sales representative for SKIING and later moved to Boulder as Western Sales Manager. Promoted to Marketing Director and later Publisher, Andy's career now spans 14 years in ski publishing. While at Times Mirror Magazines, Clurman has worked on numerous corporate initiatives such as the launch of the Outdoor Life Network and the creation of Times Mirror Magazines Golden Eagle Awards for Environmental Excellence. Clurman, 38, lives with his wife, Claire, and three children in Boulder, Colorado.
