Take A Ride To the Summit At Park City December 9, 1999
Park City, Utah - Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) opens skiing and riding to the "Summit" area on Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, doubling the resort's vertical drop currently available to skiers and snowboarders. With access to the Summit, guests at PCMR will have the opportunity to experience two of the resort's newest amenities - the Summit Demo Center and the Summit Smoke House and Grill (formerly called the Summit House).
"The outside of the Summit Smoke House and Grill is pretty similar to the old Summit House, but I guarantee, the interior will make our guests stop and do double take," said Vern Greco, president and general manager at PCMR.
This past summer, the Summit Smoke House and Grill underwent an extensive remodel, upgrading not only this restaurant's dicor but the menu as well.
"The Summit Smoke House and Grill's menu includes what I think I can safely say is one of the best hamburgers in Park City," said Todd DePriest, executive chef at PCMR. "People will also be really pleased with that restaurant's blackened tuna sandwich."
The Summit Demo Center is located adjacent to the Summit Smoke House and Grill at the top of the Bonanza chairlift. This facility features ski in/ski out high-performance demo rentals by industry-leader brands Volkl, Rossignol, Dynastar, Volant and K2. The Summit Demo Center also houses one of the only Burton Snowboard Super Centers in the country.
"Doubling the vertical drop and daily additions to open terrain, coupled with the lowest price of any Utah area offers a great early season opportunity for skiers and snowboarders," Greco said.
With the Park City Mountain Rewards pass, a midweek full day lift ticket is $25, a weekend full day $29. In addition, with the Mountain Rewards pass the first day of skiing or riding is free on or prior to Dec. 17, 1999.
Mountain Rewards pass holders also receive a 10 percent discount off PCMR's food and beverage and equipment rental operations, and accumulate credit toward additional free skiing and snowboarding privileges.
PCMR's First Time run, an area graded specifically for beginner skiers and snowboarders, is scheduled to open by the weekend. Call 435-647-5449 or 800-222-PARK (7275) for the latest ski and snowboard conditions.
Park City Mountain Resort, consistently rated one of North America's top ski and snowboard resorts, is the official venue of the men's and women's alpine giant slalom and all snowboarding events of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
